Terms of Service & Auction Rules
BidLow is an online auction where the lowest unique bid wins. By placing a bid you agree to the rules below.
1. How an auction works
- Every bid costs a fixed entry fee, paid before the bid counts.
- Your bid amount stays hidden from other bidders until the auction closes.
- When the clock runs out, every paid bid is compared.
- The lowest amount placed by exactly one person wins.
- If two or more people pick the same amount, that amount cannot win.
- Second and third place also receive a prize.
2. Placing a bid
- Read the product details and these rules before you bid.
- Once a bid is placed it cannot be changed or cancelled.
- Bid from your own account and give correct details. Bidding from someone else's account is not allowed.
3. Paying
- The entry fee is paid through Chapa, and the bid counts once the payment is confirmed.
- Entry fees are not refunded.
- If BidLow cancels an auction, the entry fees for that auction are refunded.
4. If an auction needs more time
- Instead of being cancelled, the closing time moves exactly one week later, on the same day and at the same time.
- Every bid already placed stays in, and you are never charged again for it.
5. The winner
- The result appears on the auction page as soon as the clock ends.
- We contact the winner on the phone number on their account.
- If the winner cannot be reached or is not eligible to claim, BidLow may act under these rules.
6. Getting your item
- Once the win is confirmed, BidLow arranges delivery of the item.
- Delivery time and cost depend on the item and where it is going.
7. When BidLow can cancel an auction
- A technical fault, a suspicion of cheating, or a legal reason.
- If that happens, entry fees for that auction are refunded.
8. Cheating
- Using fake accounts, trying to control the result, or misleading other bidders is not allowed.
- BidLow may suspend an account and cancel its bids.
9. Your information
- The only personal detail BidLow keeps about you is your phone number, along with the bids you place.
- That information is kept on computers outside Ethiopia, at the companies that host the site for us.
- We do not sell your information. Other bidders only ever see your username, or a phone number with most of its digits hidden.
10. Changes to these rules
- BidLow may update these rules. The version shown on this page applies from the day it is posted.
